Ways to Detox in 2020

Ways to Detox in 2020

As we enter this fresh new year, do you want to quit some toxic habits, thought patterns and clutter from your life?

This is a new year, so be inspired to set yourself new goals and new challenges, get in shape, or just try to cut out whatever didn't make us feel good in 2019.

We have some great tips for you to free up some mental space and give you the energy to take on new things. So here goes…

Technology Detox

Try to stop using your mobile phone, tablet or laptop at least an hour before bedtime. Limit your time spent on social media platforms to reduce stress and anxiety caused by the over-use of technology.

Try to focus instead on offline social interactions and actions, re-connecting with nature and increasing mindfulness.

Paperwork Clear Out

Clean out your physical paper files of old bank, insurance, receipts and anything you can either scan or shred, and delete old files from your computer that you no longer use.

Add a Supplement to your Diet

Eating a healthy and varied diet aids in having a clearer mind and boosting energy levels. Adding supplements to your diet can aid this further.

Why not try our Apple Cider Vinegar Complex or Cranberry Extract?

Apple Cider Vinegar can aid weight loss, decrease blood sugar and high cholesterol levels. The capsule form is perfect for people who don’t like the strong smell or taste of vinegar. Our complex also contains Cayenne Pepper, Turmeric and Ginger Root to increase effectiveness.

Cranberry pills are a great option for people who want to experience some of the health benefits of cranberries without having to eat them every day. They are packed with antioxidants and can help reduce the frequency of urinary tract infections in some people. Also, they may promote heart health, improve blood sugar control, boost immunity and protect against cancer, cavities and stomach ulcers.

Practice Boundary Setting

Say NO to what doesn't serve you. It is easy to people please or let boundaries slip even if you do not want to do something. We often feel guilty and end up saying yes and then get angry with the outcome.

Get Your Sleep

Ensure that you get a minimum of 8 hours nightly. A lack of sleep weakens the immune system. Aim to be in bed before 10 pm to keep your adrenals healthy.

Stay Hydrated

Aim to drink 8 glasses of water a day. This will help to flush out harmful toxins. Room temperature or warm filtered water is best. Staying hydrated is beneficial to your skin, muscles, and mood. The body depends on water to survive and every single cell requires it to function.

Move Your Body

Regular exercise promotes circulation in the blood and lymph system. This will help to improve digestion, reduce tension, lubricate joints, and strengthen your body. If you are not able to find time to work out then try taking the stairs instead of the lift, do five-minute stretches at your desk (even in your work clothes), do squats while you're talking on the phone or try walking to work.

Switch to a Vegetarian/Vegan Diet

Try going Vegan or Vegetarian. If you are unable to make the full switch due to health reasons or choice, try to have one day a week where you do not consume animal products.

Animal products such as dairy and meat can be hard for our body to digest and may lead us to feel lethargic and sluggish.

Try our Green Detox Juice Recipe to help start the detox process.
