So you’re most likely familiar with an exotic fruit smoothie bowl or even a protein-packed Buddha bowl, but what about a plant-powered poke bowl? Poke (pronounced poke-ay) bowls are a classic Hawaiian dish blended with deep Japanese flavours- it’s quite a fusion! Poke quite literally translates to ‘slice or cut’ in Hawaiian so it’s no surprise that traditional poke bowls are made using chunks of raw, marinated fish tossed over rice, topped with veggies and drizzled with umami-flavoured sauces- it’s almost like a deconstructed sushi roll! Poke bowls are generally really healthy, but we thought why not take it a step further and veganise it? Here are some easy to make plant-based poke bowls that capture all of the tastes and textures of the classic bowl, but makes a refreshing meatless take on the Hawaiian dish.


Pickled Tofu with Rice and Veggies

This poke bowl is hearty, delicious and takes less than 30 minutes to put together! Using sriracha for a spicy kick, lime and rice vinegar for some zest, and tamari paired with sesame oil for the all-essential tangy umami flavour, this recipe is perfect for any poke bowl lover!
