Introduction to Mindfulness March

Mindfulness can be so beneficial in modern life. It can be very easy to go day to day, simply going through the motions of life, without stopping to notice the small stuff. Mindfulness, essentially, is about paying more attention to the present moment and is about taking the time to observe both your internal and external circumstances without judgement.

Mindfulness can help us to understand ourselves better, become more intuitive and to understand our stress and internal struggles. It can be very easy to get ‘in your head’ about things, so we often identify with our thoughts.

Mindfulness can help you to take a step back from your thoughts. It can help you to realise that ‘you’ are separate from ‘your thoughts’. Meditation can be very beneficial for disassociating from your thoughts. Doing everyday tasks with a mindful stance can also increase your happiness. You can learn to meditate through one of the many free apps available. Your brain is like a muscle, and if you train it everyday through meditation, it can get stronger and you will be able to respond to stress better.
