High Strength Omega 3 50/20

High Strength Omega 3 50/20

You’re probably aware that omega-3 fatty acids are important for a range of processes in our body. Although you can find rich amounts of omega-3s in oily fish and algae, not many people are eating enough regularly to experience the full benefits of this nutritious fatty acid. Therefore, supplementing with a high strength fish oil is a great way to ensure you’re getting enough omega-3s. That’s why we’ve formulated a new high-strength Omega-3 50/20 fish oil to add to our Nutravita range. Using pure and natural fish oil in our soft gels, each dose delivers a high concentration of EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) 1000 mg and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) 400 mg (50% and 20% respectively).

What are Omega-3 fats?

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential building blocks for our bodies. There are three main omega-3 fatty acids:

  • ALA (alpha-linolenic acid)
  • EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid)
  • DHA (docosahexaenoic acid)

ALA is referred to as an essential fatty acid because it cannot be made by our bodies, and therefore we need to get them from our foods. ALA is manly found in plant oils such as flaxseed, soybean oil as well as chia seeds and hemp seeds.

When it comes to the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA, you can find rich amount of these omegas in algae and oily fish. They not only help the body function properly, but they are also known to nourish, support and soothe the body with their anti-inflammatory effects. Both DHA and EPA contribute to the normal function of the heart by maintaining normal blood pressure and triglyceride levels in the blood. Whereas DHA alone contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function and normal vision. In addition, maternal intake of DHA contributes to the normal development of the baby’s eye and brain during pregnancy.

Whilst most of us get enough ALA from our diet, around 96% of the world’s population aren’t actually getting enough of EPA and DHA. To help you reach your daily omega-3 requirements, why not try our high strength omega-3 supplement. It’s an easy way to help ensure you’re getting enough- it’s especially useful for those who struggle to eat enough fish regularly. Plus, it’s a really easy way to experience the benefits that omega-3s offer just by taking 2 soft gels a day. Getting your optimal intake of omega-3 has never been easier!
